John McPhaul III is a Screenwriter based in Brooklyn, New York.

John Charles McPhaul III (he/him) is a television and film writer known for crafting stories that captivate, entertain, and resonate. Originally from Sacramento, California, John earned his B.S. in Creative Media and Film from Northern Arizona University in 2019 and his Master’s in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2024. Now based in Brooklyn, New York, John specializes in thrillers, historical dramas, crime dramas, animation, and comedy.

John’s portfolio includes work on the critically acclaimed anthology web series Moments, where he penned key episodes such as "Look Out" (S01, Ep. 3), "Kevin" (S02, Ep. 4), and the season 2 finale "Better Days" (S02, Ep. 10). He also co-wrote the gripping short film We Are Here to Help, a compelling and suspenseful story designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Additionally, John contributes to Everyday People, a comedic anthology series created by Red Truss at Columbia University. The series offers an authentic, unfiltered look at the diverse communities of New York City, blending deadpan humor, slapstick, and absurdity to capture the city’s raw essence. Stay tuned for Episode 8, "Pros & Cons", co-written by John, set to premiere in 2025.
